Nadi is a large-scale wall hanging composed of three individually woven panels, stitched together to form a layered and expressive piece. The multi-panel construction introduces rhythm and variation across the surface, giving the work a strong sense of depth and movement on the wall.
Handwoven on traditional backstrap looms from seagrass and hemp, each panel features areas of closed weave and more open, textural sections. When joined, these variations create a interplay of tone, texture and transparency, with the stitched seams and stepped hem. Supplied on a timber rod, Nadi also includes a length of hemp twine for an alternative hanging option, ideal for renters or those seeking flexibility in how the piece is displayed.
Ethically handmade by skilled artisans in Bangladesh, each panel is woven by hand using techniques passed down through generations. From their home to yours, Nadi supports genuine Fair Trade practices, providing sustainable income and meaningful work for the women who create it.
