Designed to protect tabletops while adding natural texture, the Malu Table Runner is handwoven from jute and cotton in light, neutral tones. Use it as a centrepiece for everyday meals and special occasions, pair it with our Round Jute Placemats and Coasters for a complete table setting, or style it as a foundation on a sideboard or console.
What is the difference between Bone and Natural? The colour difference is created by the cotton thread woven through the natural jute. Bone has a light, neutral off-white thread, resulting in a lighter runner suited to cooler and neutral tones. Natural has a warmer-toned thread, typically suited to warmer and neutral-toned interiors.
Can I use the Malu Table Runner with hot serving dishes? The jute and cotton weave helps protect your tabletop from heat, but we recommend placing very hot cookware on one of our Hemp Trivets or Hemp Hot Mats for additional protection.
What placemats can I pair it with? The Malu Table Runner pairs beautifully with our Round Jute Placemats x 8 in Lidded Basket and and Round Jute Coasters x 8 in Lidded Basket, which complement its natural jute texture and neutral tones.
Can I use the runner somewhere other than a dining table? Yes. Its 170cm length also works well styled along a sideboard or console as a foundation for decorative objects, ceramics or serving pieces.
Can I wash the table runner? We don't recommend machine washing or soaking the runner. Shake regularly to remove crumbs and dust, and blot spills promptly with an absorbent cloth. Allow it to dry completely if it becomes damp.

Protects surfaces while creating a foundation for table settings, sideboards and consoles.
We partner with a Fair Trade organisation in Bangladesh that supports the women who make our Malu Table Runners through both weaving and sewing.
The fabric is woven by women in rural communities, working from their homes or in shared village weaving spaces. Natural jute is first braided by hand into long lengths, then woven together with cotton on traditional wooden looms using skills passed down through generations.
The woven fabric is then sent to Dhaka, where women in a Fair Trade sewing workshop cut each runner to size and finish the ends with hand-stitched jute edging. Together, these stages bring the skills of two groups of women to each piece, providing fair, consistent work across both weaving and sewing communities.
