A laundry basket that works as well as it looks. The firm structure, handwoven finish and fixed cotton lining keep contents neatly contained while bringing natural texture into your space. Generous in size, it holds everything from laundry to toys and exercise gear with ease. Its warm, neutral tone works across a range of interiors.
What is the difference between Natural and Bone? The colour difference is created by the cotton thread woven through the natural jute. Bone has a light, neutral off-white thread, resulting in a lighter basket suited to cooler and neutral tones. Natural has a warmer-toned thread, typically suited to warmer and neutral toned interiors.
Does the basket hold its shape? Yes, the structured weave and internal rubber layer help it stand upright, even when empty.
Is the lining removable? No, the cotton lining is fixed in place.
What can it be used for? In addition to laundry, it can be used for storing toys, exercise or yoga gear and other everyday items. Some customers choose to place a potted plant inside.
Will it be shipped upright or folded? This basket is gently folded for shipping and may need reshaping on arrival. Press out any creases, then fill with towels or blankets for a day or two to help restore shape.
Can it be used for wet laundry? We recommend using the basket for dry laundry only. Prolonged exposure to moisture may lead to mould or discolouration, so wet items should be dried before placing inside.
Can it be used to hold plants? Yes, but we recommend placing a deep plastic tray or waterproof liner inside to protect the basket from moisture and potential mould.
A firm structure ensures the basket holds its shape and stands upright, even when empty.
Handwoven with braided jute and natural-coloured cotton, creating texture and durability.
Strong macrame jute handles add a distinctive detail while soft fabric lining protects delicates.
Generous in size for laundry, towels, exercise gear, toys and everyday household storage.
We partner with a Fair Trade organisation in Bangladesh that supports the women who make our Soha Laundry Baskets through both weaving and sewing.
The outer layer is woven by women in rural areas, working from their homes or in shared village weaving spaces. Using traditional loom weaving techniques passed down through generations, this skilled work makes it possible for them to remain within their communities, supporting their families while earning a fair, consistent income.
Once the fabric is woven, it is sent to Dhaka, where it is cut, sewn and constructed in a Fair Trade workshop by women who have come from challenging circumstances. This work provides opportunities to develop skills, earn an income and build more secure futures.
